Crystal Reports 10.5.3700.0 did not follow all of the naming guidelines. Did it work properly? Yes. If you had developed using Crystal Reports 10.5.3700.0 and throw it in the bin for a later version that would work. Did it display correctly?Yup. Crystal Reports 11(x) is about 80% the size and has the same look & feel of Crystal Reports 10.5.3700.0. Also, it did not have to be installed to run. That is not going to be the case with Crystal Reports 11. For the simple level, developers will be delighted to see the drop down menus in the toolbar, and the new menu items. They hide, and create folders, and hide again. This is actually pretty handy if you want to name something under an existing menu item. That is not how you do it if you are developing for crystal reports XI because you are not supposed to change that stuff, and use the new menu items. But if you are developing for Crystal Reports 10.5.3700.0 then this is just the way to do it. It is just a drop down menu, and another drop down menu.

The other item is the fact that they changed the way you create objects. The functionality is pretty much the same. However, if you create a report object you get a new version of crystal reports and not crystal report 12, and it creates a new class. You can once again use the old version by right clicking on the item in the toolhelp, and going to version 10, but that is not the way you do it.

The representative architectureof the free version of CR is that it is a web server, which means that it 'uses' a web browser in the user to report-building process. This web browser has a built-in editor but nothing else. Therefore you have to keep the CR files on the hard drive. d2c66b5586
