Ohh i get it. Thanks! Does engine braking put added wear on the engine In other words does the benefit of saving brake pads due to engine braking(block, transmission, clutch wear) saves money in the long run. provided you have perfect rev matches. Also, is it better to downshift from 4th gear to 2nd at 6000 rpm or 3rd at 3000rpm(im guessing gear ratios)@kriley0, I've read somewhere that the ideal(fastest) line for a corner is a somewhat late apex, due to braking power is greater than acceleration power. is this true its kinda hard to find info online because of noobs in forums.I know that drifting/handbrake turn is better than grip if the corner is too tight, is there any exceptions for thisThanks a bunch!!!! I cant w8 to get a miata!
Greetings! Oh my, I just realized we wrote the post on Wednesday but didn't hit the \"save\" button. We're winding down here in 6th grade, I know I'm getting tuckered out too, sorry about that. 6th graders are VERY social right now and you can well imagine the \"drama\" that ensues from everyday adolescent life. The kids are still lovely and fun, just chatty, it comes with the territory. Plus, Report Cards will be released on May 22nd, so keep an eye out for those. They can be viewed online. I will do my best to keep you informed as we close out the year. Whew... lots of exciting days ahead! 1st) Our trip to the Cave of the Winds was AMAZING! Even with the bus being an HOUR LATE and the snowy weather, we took it with stride, enjoyed the cave experience and LOVED the food at Fargo's pizza. Because it was too cold to participate on the Wind Walking High Ropes and Bat-A-Pult zipline all students were issued a voucher from Cave of the Winds to return anytime in the next year to redeem their experience. I will hand out the vouchers on Monday. The 6th graders were truly delightful to be with and they made us and AWE proud! 2nd) The Graduation/ Congratulations Surprise party for Mrs. Laurie was incredible. You were so generous and thoughtful. Mrs. Laurie was overwhelmed by everyone's enthusiasm and love for her. She really is going to be a great 5th grade teacher here at Arrowwood Elementary School. Thank you for welcoming her to our school in such thoughtful and unique ways. 3rd) Field Day - New Date! Monday, May 22nd! The morning is filled with fun and frolic. Let's hope the weather cooperates. Students, please dress appropriately for outdoor activities. There will be wet and wild, fast and furious. I suggest you don't wear white. White wet is too revealing. Wear good shoes, sunblock, hats, sunglasses. We can come inside to relax afterwards. We need to finalize our scrapbooks and get autographs too. So much to do, so little time. 4th) Continuation Ceremony is Tuesday! Yay! The ceremony will start at 9:30AM. 6th graders will parade throughout the school as their school mates send them off in grand style. The ceremony will be from 9:30AM-11:00AM. There will be cake and refreshments for everyone afterwards. We must exit the gym and cafeteria by 11:10AM for the beginning of lunch service. Students will leave with their parents for the day to celebrate! Mrs. Laurie, Mr. Rogers and I would be delighted to say good bye to you all one last time before you depart. Please take a moment to say good bye if you can. 5th) Stone Canyon Adventure - Wednesday, May 24th. Wahoo! Please ARRIVE at school by 7:30AM. The bus will depart by 8:00AM so we can make a full day of it. We will \"Soar out of 6th Grade in Grand Style!\" Adventure is a Wonderful Thing! We will arrive back at AWE by 2:30PM, ready for dismissal on our last day in elementary school by 3:30PM. DON'T FORGET WATER, SACK LUNCH and HEALTHY SNACKS! That's the rundown of the days ahead. I'll keep you posted if anything else comes up, but for the most part, our communication is also coming to an end. I appreciate those of you, kids and parents, for diligently keeping posted on our 6th grade living and learning. I hope you've enjoyed the glimpses in our 6th grade life along with staying apprised of daily home learning. It's been a wonderful year and thank you for sharing it with me.
